Why a printmaking festival?

The aim of the festival is to provide a physical platform to bring together the printmaking community, which includes all artists who use the process and medium in their arts practice and extends to all works on paper such as book arts, letterpress and paper cutting.

By bringing together the community, the aim is to shine a light on the range and calibre of work that is being produced and its potential for collaboration, innovation and fostering a sense of community. The outcome will be that more people participate in printmaking practices, generating an appreciation of the art form and creating a demand for more print classes, print groups and to establish open access print studios in which printmaking can thrive.
